With the economic growth in Asia there is a growing need for energy. This need can be met with clean energy given a conducive policy & regulatory environment to stimulate the growth of this sector. The cost of clean technologies like solar and wind have been dropping and that makes them a viable option as a clean generation source.
One of the main objective of this workshop is to equip the senior policy makers and regulators with knowledge of key issues in regards with policy formulation, technology options and financing of energy efficiency, renewable energy and related infrastructure like grids.
Issues around pricing of electricity, need for subsidies and incentives will also be discussed using case studies of different approaches to illustrate the appropriate outcomes.
