The 2016 Pacific Energy Summit, “Sustainable Futures: Energy and Environmental Security in Times of Transition,” was held in Singapore from June 22 to 24. The Summit convened an exclusive group of senior policy, industry, and research leaders from more than 20 countries to explore innovative solutions to the dual challenges of rising energy demand and a changing climate.
For the first time in years, energy security conversations are not dominated by concerns over tight markets and skyrocketing prices. However, policymakers and industry leaders must avoid complacency with regards to energy policies and investment in the face of abundance. By bringing together a high-level group of leaders from policy, industry, and academia, the 2016 Pacific Energy Summit shed light on the opportunities, as well as potential pitfalls, facing decision-makers in these times of transition.
